Our story

The Audio Programmer began in 2017 with a simple goal: make audio software development more accessible.

Through tutorials, books, events, and open community discussion, TAP helped thousands of people begin and develop careers in audio technology.

Over time, something larger emerged.

The people learning through TAP became developers, founders, researchers, product leaders, executives, and collaborators. Companies began coming to TAP to find specialist talent and create products. New partnerships formed. Events and conversations brought different parts of the industry together.

Today, TAP is more than an education platform.

It is where the people, companies, and ideas building the future of audio software come together.

What TAP does today

Community

We create spaces, resources, and conversations that help people across audio software exchange knowledge, build relationships, discover opportunities, and understand how the industry is changing.

Through community discussion, podcasts, interviews, articles, videos, education, meetups, and events, TAP brings the industry together and helps people learn from one another.

Join the Community

We help audio and music technology companies build exceptional teams.

Our specialist network and industry knowledge allow us to reach engineers, product professionals, designers, technical leaders, executives, and contractors that conventional recruitment channels often miss.

Hire Talent

Why TAP is different

Built from relationships, not transactions

TAP has spent years contributing to the audio software industry before asking anything from it.

That history gives us something difficult to recreate:

  • trust across the community;
  • deep specialist knowledge;
  • long-term relationships with talent and companies;
  • direct insight into how the industry is changing;
  • and the ability to bring the right people into the room.

Whether we are helping someone find their next opportunity, supporting a company as it builds a team, hosting an industry conversation, or working on a product, the same principle applies:

Contribute more than we extract.
