Teaming Up with Matt Robertson to Build StageBox

The ultimate live performance tool for keyboard players

The Challenge

When acclaimed producer and Musical Director Matt Robertson (Bjork, The Prodigy) approached us last year, he faced a major challenge. Existing VST hosts were often too complex and time-consuming to configure for live use – a serious problem when you’re responsible for delivering flawless shows on global tours.

Matt needed a solution that:

  • Delivered a powerful yet simple workflow
  • Allowed performers to set up quickly and reliably
  • Made it easy to lock in sounds for live performance

The Vision Behind StageBox

Matt’s dream was to create a tool designed by performers, for performers – one that stripped away unnecessary complexity while giving musicians the confidence to focus on their performance.

That vision became StageBox.

Our Collaboration

Working side by side with Matt, we brought StageBox to life. The development was led by Jules Storer – a legend in the audio software world and creator of JUCE – bringing his deep expertise to the project alongside Matt’s creative vision.

  • Understanding Matt’s vision as a non-developer
  • Mapping out a collaborative development journey
  • Creating a realistic development budget
  • Capturing insights and lessons learned along the way

Throughout the process, our role was to translate Matt’s performance needs into elegant, reliable software that works in the heat of live shows.

The Result

StageBox is now empowering keyboard players with a streamlined, intuitive workflow for live performance. What started as a conversation about “what if” is now a tool designed to change the way performers approach their live rigs.

We’re incredibly proud to have been part of that journey.
